When I was sick of me.....
Have you ever got up in the morning and as you are trying to button your jeans you realize they are fitting much more snuggly than they were before?? I mean, how does that even happen?? I swear they fit fine yesterday. Well, after they loosened up a bit from wear. But why today? Why did they have to give up on me today? 😖
That's what happened. I looked in the mirror and wondered what went wrong? I've always been up and down with my weight. But I had swore to myself that I wouldn't gain again after I had worked so hard counting calories after I had my second and last child.
But here we were. My face was round. I couldn't take a selfie without a second chin unless I held the phone a foot above my head. My waist looked like a muffin in my jeans. And I realized it had been like this for a while. I went back and looked at my pictures on Facebook and shuttered. I thought, "I'll just count calories, drop the extra weight and all will be fine." HA! HAHA! Boy was I wrong!!!
Have you ever counted calories? It sucks! Like, majorly! Can anyone guess what my absolute favorite food is?? Well, if you haven't figured it out.... bacon. Juicy, salty, chewy, melt in your mouth, I am chewing heaven, bacon. I also love many other meats. Yes, I am a meat eater. We hunt deer. We buy cow and pig and chicken from the butcher. We eat meat. Seafood.... no thank you. I don't eat seafood. And if you have ever counted calories you know that most meat is high in calories (minus the deer) and it is always suggested to replace red meat with fish. Eff That! 😷
I know, I know.... I'm rambling. It happens. I always hate telling half a story and I'm shit at summarizing. So if you are going to follow my blog be prepared to read.... all of it.
So I end up talking to my cousin, Carrie (RIP 👼), and she tells me about this low carb high fat thing she is doing. She adds me to a group on Facebook and I start my research. I saw all the success stories. You know what sold me? The fact that BACON🐖 and CHEESE🧀 and BUTTER are actually encouraged. WHAT?!?! YES! This is my kind of diet.
So here I am. I started this WOE (way of eating) September 18, 2016. That was 10 months ago. I have lost 30 of the 40 pounds I wanted to lose. I feel amazing. No more being bloated. No more feeling sluggish. No more mental fog. That is why this isn't a diet. It is a lifestyle change and one that I embrace now more than before. And if you don't believe ask anyone else who has been on it more than a month or two. You can feel your body changing for the better. It's amazing. And I don't even exercise! Although I plan on starting (been telling myself that for 5 months).
Now that you know my story I welcome you to this blog of recipes. Any recipe I post I have tried. Because my schedule is pretty hectic I am planning on weekly posts. Today is Friday, but I may shoot for Thursday's as my post days. So please please please... like and share. Feel free to comment as well. I look forward to hearing your stories, your recipes, your opinions. And if you are following me I thank you so much!!
